Game On! The new advertising campaign of the NHL.

Via Kukla's Corner and the article itself on NHL.com, we now see what we can expect this season for some of the commercial ads that the league's marketing division has churned out for us. And what's my response so far?
I'd be a dirty liar if I said I didn't like them so far. When Behind the Jersey asked me on the Behind the Blog segment what would I would like to see in terms of marketing and showcasing of the sport, one of the things I mentioned was that I missed the funnier commercials. The ones that made you snicker to yourself or even laugh out loud. And these make me chuckle. The totally vacant, oblivious stares that Cheechoo and Forsberg have in their respective ads makes me laugh, too. The pseudo-casual attitude acting by the everyday joe people seems a little too casual, admittedly, but it still fits well.
Meanwhile, and this is somewhat related, Off Wing mentions how NBC will probably be trying to set up some advertising for their hockey coverage during their "Football Night in America/Sunday Night Football" timeslot. So good on them if they actually do this, since it'd help out immensely in the advertising department.
