"What to watch" recap!

Tampa Bay at Atlanta (3-2 SO): So, hey! Marc Denis won his first game as a Lightning after a comeback victory by the team that led to a shootout win.
The bad part? He faced a total of 11 shots. 11 shots! And he let in two goals.
Well, I guess a win is a win, though that definitely isn't the sort of quality of play you want to have on your very first game for your new team.
Speaking of the shot total though, what the heck happened to that dangerous Atlanta offense? It's only the first game, but just 11 shots? Yeah, that isn't something you should be proud of there, even if you do win. The Thrashers should feel lucky that Denis was like a fish out of water last night, and even got one point in the standings from that SOL.
Vancouver at Detroit (3-1): Dominik Hasek was undressed, plain and simple. But that isn't to say he wasn't sort of hung out to dry by the Red Wings, either. I tuned in just in time to see the third and final goal against the Wings, where Sammy Salo, wide open right in the middle of the offensive zone, blasted a shot under Hasek's arm.
Meanwhile, Vancouver as a whole played solid, worked hard, and Luongo made several nifty saves, including that little showing off of the glove save in the first period.
Chicago at Nashville (8-6): Who would have thought that it would be the Blackhawks who scored eight goals against the Predators? Definitely not me. Martin Havlat had possibly the best night of any player on a new team so far this season, notching a couple of goals and then a couple of assists.
I'm not sure if the game speaks more about the 'Hawks being underestimated or the Preds being overestimated. It's more than likely a little of both in the end. Besides, what if an obviously key player like Havlat goes down? Who picks up the slack? Certainly the scoring was dispersed between a total of seven different players, but Havlat still had a hand in half of the goals.
